Hidden Treasures Presentation & Appraisals at 9:30am

Auction Begins at 12:00 Noon

We are proud to announce we will be having our first annual auction and appraisal day on Thursday October 24, 2019 at the Cape May Convention Center. For many years my wife & I have vacationed in Cape May, from the Christmas parade to many 3-day excursions eating at the numerous 5-star restaurants, we decided to bring our auction to this historical town. We believe our niche of specializing in Antiques & Estate Liquidation will bring an exciting new annual event to the town. With the backdrop of the auction overlooking the ocean, this promises to be a great break from the normal 12-hour events in Edison. Whether you live in town and want to experience all the excitement or you’re a seasoned Bodnar’s attendee and want to have a shore town experience, we promise to deliver you a quality auction and a good time!

Part one of this exciting event will be a presentation on the Antiques & Collectible industry and how auctions work. Joe Bodnar has been in the auction profession for over 20 years leading the industry in bringing collections to the market place. His leadership in the New Jersey State Society of Auctioneers as a board member, vice president & president has earned him respect in the auction industry. He is also a member of the National Auctioneers Association, The Train Collectors Association and New York Auctioneers association. He has taken many classes at NYU in the appraisal field and has completed continuing educations thru such venues. Mr. Bodnar and his well devised staff will be giving auction value appraisals for $10.00 per item. The proceeds will be shared with The Community Food Closet of Cape May. Only 100 tickets will be on sale so make sure you get them while you can! For Tickets please call the Cape May Convention Center at (609) 884-9565

We will be evaluating Antiques, Collectibles, Art, Jewelry, Toys, Dolls, Trains, Sterling Silver, Furniture, Glassware, and anything else you can think of! Find out if you have a Hidden Treasure lurking on your shelf! See what’s hot in the auction industry. The event is open to the public for free with the lecture & auction. Appraisals will be $10.00 each and are limited to the first 100 tickets sold. Doors open at 9:00am and appraisals will be done up to 12 noon prior to the live auction event.

A.M. SIRENA was born in White Plains, N.Y., on January 13th 1929. her father died a few months later. In 1931, because of the Depression, Sirena’s mother went to her parents’ native Italy, where starvation and then World War II, brought about the death of her eight children. Only Sirena survived when she was rescued from a burning train by an opera singer, who later discovered the little girl’s four octave vocal range voice and trained her to sing grand opera. In 1943 Sirena made her singing debut in Naples. After the War, in 1947, Sirena returned to New York, where the Lew Walters Agency signed and booked her on singing engagements throughout the world. Years later, particularly because of an almost fatal illness, Sirena abandoned her singing career. After five cloistered years of self-taught painting, in 1965 she started showing her paintings in many renowned galleries, from the U.S.A. to Italy, France, Holland. Picasso said of Sirena’s paintings: “They should be shown throughout the world…” In addition to painting, Sirena has composed music and lyrics, and also wrote poetry
