Bodnar’s Auction toy sales have grown so large that they are now starting to get calls from all over the US from people for help in liquidating their collections. If you ask Joseph Bodnar, owner of Bodnar’s Auction what makes his toy sales so successful he will tell you, “Keeping the collection together is crucial to get the buyers to come out”. “Many people will either sell off the best part of their collection first, leaving the rest behind, or many toy auctions will only want to pick out your best items, leaving you to figure out what to do with the rest”. Over the years, Bodnar’s Auctions has earned a reputation of being the best in the business when bringing a collection to market. His not so secret makes perfect sense. When you keep everything together it will spark the interest of more buyers to come from far and wide to bid on the items.

So, when a call came in from Minnesota, Joe Bodnar just rolled with the idea that his business and reputation have grown far outside his New Jersey location. The call came from a woman who had spent many years collecting with her brother in the hopes of one day opening a store they could run together. Unfortunately, her brother had passed away and due to the face that she is disabled, she made the tough decision to let the lifelong collection go that she and her brother enjoyed so much. She called Bodnar’s Auction after being told from a friend that they are the best to handle your collection.

1,004 miles later, the boxed-up collection arrived at Bodnar’s Auction location at the NJ Convention and Expo Center. It took 2 moving trucks and an entire staff of people to get the items to New Jersey, and that entire staff then unpacked each box, separated the items and photographed them. It wasn’t until that point that they understood the full idea of how many comics and action figures the two had collected in their lifetime.

“Massive” is the only way Joseph Bodnar could describe what was in front of him. There were over 300 long boxes of comics that needed to be looked through and photographed as well as over 600 boxes packed with various pop-culture figures and items. As the staff sorted, organized, and look through as many boxes as they could, they kept unveiling more and more fantastic little treasures. There were many 12-75 cent comics including Fantastic Four, The Thing, Conan, Captain Marvel, The Amazing Spiderman, Tarzan, Machine Man, War of the Worlds, Batman, Detective Comics and so many others! There are full and partial runs of many popular and obscure comics it was just overwhelming!

In the pop-culture action figures were hundreds of Star Wars figures from all the movies and TV shows from many different generations.  There are also many other movie and TV related items such as a life sized Homer Simpson, many WWE figures – some very rare, He-Man, Indiana Jones, The Smurfs, Scooby Doo, The Simpsons, many various Hanna Barbera figures, Transformers, DC, Marvel, GI Joe, XYBER 9, Monster High, X-Men, TMNT, many various Disney movie figures, Duck Dodgers and Care Bears as well as many obscure figures, wacky wobblers, and vintage and unique finds.

In addition to all the pop-culture and comics is a large amount of autographed memorabilia and wrestling memorabilia. There is a WWE Championship belt, a signed and framed photo of TNA wrestlers, and many signed action figures still on the card just to name a few. There are also thousands of DVD’s including many full box sets of various TV shows.

It is almost impossible to list all the different categories of pop-culture figures and comics that are in the almost 1000 boxes that made the trip from Minnesota to New Jersey. This is truly a sale you will need to come and see for yourself what is there. The sale will take place on Thursday, September 26th at the NJ Convention and Expo Center at 97 Sunfield Ave, Edison, NJ. The doors will open for preview at 9 am on sale day and the sale will begin at 11:00
