New York Herald April 15, 1865 3:00 AM Edition
Description
April 15, 1865 Lincoln Assassination special edition 8 page newspaper from The New York Herald, 3:00 am edition. This is a genuine issue of arguably the most famous of all Lincoln assassination newspapers. Almost all issues on the market today are reprints. This is the 3:00 am issue, with the first, second and third columns the same as the 2:00 am edition. The fourth column has "The Latest News" with a subheading – "Secretary Stanton to General Dix, War Department, Washington, April 15th – 3 A.M." replacing "The State Capital" – which was moved to the sixth column. Many of the reprint copies of this paper get the headings wrong, have a photo of Lincoln in the center, and are yellowing due to the newer paper they were printed on. This has been printed on the correct paper, has no yellowing and is in very good condition. There is some loss to the edges and a slight stain to the upper right corner that does not affect the articles. All invoices must be paid within 24 hours of the sale. All items are shipped USPS or UPS and will be billed separately. A $12 handling fee is added to the shipping price per lot if shipped in house. Some items or large quantity of purchases will be packed and shipped via the UPS store. Local pickups are at our South Brunswick location on Friday, Saturday and Monday ONLY!
