Description
Group of Antique Beaded Purses. The lot includes 6 antique early turn of the century beaded purses and more. Featuring a an early 20th century purse with an outer black cotton sateen shell embellished with navy blue iridescent beaded loops, a celluloid flip top lid/frame in a malachite-like pattern, a beveled hand silvered mirror, and a celluloid chain loop. An early 20th century 9” long reticule fully covered in vertical rows and loops of lime green seed beads on a forest green cotton sateen base with a green silk cord closure. An early 20th century salvaged 8” long reticule outer shell consisting of vertical rows and beaded loops in red glass seed beads. An early 20th century 7” x 5” crocheted taupe reticule with patterned rows in navy blue iridescent beads and a Greek key motif in copper tone beads, it is unlined and has no closure. A small early 20th century 5” x 4” purse with a kiss lock closure, an outer shell beaded in cut steel beads in a carpet-like pattern and a beige silk grosgrain lining. A turn of the century black silk 9” x 6.5” reticule embellished horizontal swagged stripes made of cut steel beads, a double drawstring, and a sheer green cotton lining. Also included is a 9” x 9” early 20th century hexagonal glass bead placemat. All items are used. All invoices must be paid within 24 hours of the sale.
