Description
A collection of commemorative First Day Covers (FDCs) issued by the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) and the United States Postal Service (USPS) dating from 1977 through 1990. The United Nations portion includes issues from the New York, Geneva, and Vienna offices with denominations in US cents, Swiss francs, and Austrian schillings. Featured themes include the International Year for Disabled Persons (1981), Combat Racism (1977), and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Safety in the Air (1978). The United States portion includes the Transportation series (Railroad Mail Car, Fire Engine, Elevator), American Symbols (The Eagle as Symbol), Black Heritage series (Ida B. Wells), and the US Supreme Court. Each cover features official First Day of Issue cancellations from various postal locations including New York, NY; Geneva, Switzerland; San Juan, PR; and Washington, DC. The United Nations Postal Administration is the only postal authority that issues stamps in three different currencies.All invoices must be paid within 24 hours of the sale.
