A Collection of Twelve 1:24 Scale Die-Cast Precision Model Cars Including Franklin Mint and Danbury
Description
This collection consists of twelve 1:24 scale die-cast metal model automobiles from both The Franklin and Danbury Mint, primarily representing American automotive classics from the 1930s through the 1960s. The vehicles are constructed with die-cast metal bodies, plastic interior and engine components, and rubber tires. Many models feature functional details such as opening hoods, trunks, and doors, as well as steerable front wheels. The assortment includes a cream-colored 1937 Cord 812 Phaeton with a black convertible top; two 1948 Chrysler Town and Country convertibles in maroon with wood-grain side panels; a red 1949 Mercury Fire Chief coupe with a decal on the door reading FD and lettering on the fender reading FIRE CHIEF; a red 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop with a white roof; and a red 1932 Ford 3-window coupe hot rod featuring yellow and orange flame graphics. The collection also features a forest green 1951 Chevrolet 3100 pickup truck with a side-mounted spare tire; a maroon 1949 Ford woody wagon with wood-grain panels; a red 1940 Ford deluxe coupe; two blue 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertibles with light blue interiors; and a red 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray split-window coupe. Several identification marks are visible on the vehicle bases and accompanying tags. The undercarriage of the red 1957 Chevrolet features a printed mark reading THE FRANKLIN MINT PRECISION MODELS, ? 1991, and CRAFTED IN CHINA. The red 1940 Ford base contains an impressed mark reading 1940 FORD DELUXE COUPE and FRANKLIN MINT PRECISION MODELS. A white adhesive hangtag attached to the Corvette bears the printed text DANBURY MINT. The license plates on the blue Chevrolets are marked 1957 and the plates on the Chrysler models are marked 1948.
