An Aurora Model Motoring Real Racing Slot Car Set
Description
The slot car set is an Aurora Model Motoring Real Racing HO scale electric racing set, produced exclusively for Sears. The set is identified on the layout documentation as Set No. 1980. It features two Thunderjet chassis cars: a blue Ford Mustang Mach 1 and a red Alfa Romeo racing car with #31 decals and a driver figure. The track consists of approximately 24 running feet of black plastic roadway, including 8 curved sections, 14 straight sections, and 1 terminal track section marked Aurora Model Motoring. Power is supplied by a metal DC Power Pack with a printed label reading Aurora Model Motoring Toy Transformer Model DC-10, Aurora Plastics Corp., West Hempstead, Long Island, New York. Included are two handheld speed controllers, multiple sprues of yellow plastic guardrails, white plastic stacking trestle supports, and a case of metal joining pins. Ephemera consists of the original box lid with Sears branding, a Service Manual, a layout sheet, and promotional flyers titled The Tuff Ones and Street Iron. Original box top has condition issues, unsure if set is complete. All invoices must be paid within 24 hours of the sale.
