From Canvas to Carat: A Live Auction Event Showcasing 300+ Treasures in Fine Art and Jewelry

Monmouth Junction, NJ On December 10, 2025, Bodnar’s Auction invites collectors, curators, and enthusiasts to a landmark live broadcast sale, From Canvas to Carat, featuring several estate collections of exceptional Fine Art and Jewelry. This auction will bring together a diverse roster of works spanning over three centuries, complemented by hundreds of carats of gemstone jewelry, all offered with no reserves.

The auction features multiple local estates delivering more than 300 treasured works dating from the 17th through the 20th centuries. The Broad Spectrum of Masters: Includes works and prints from revered artists such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Georges Braque, Renoir, Rembrandt, Chagall, and other known names in the art world. Other notable artists being represented include E. Darrell Smith, Geoffrey C. Smith, Razzia, Stuart Shedletsky, Leroy Neiman, Gustave Kaitz, and many more. This sale also includes Diverse Media, including 19th-century oils, 17th-century etchings, Victorian prints, and 20th-century Park West Gallery art, ensuring a wide appeal to collectors across periods and preferences.

Several highlights include Lot number 130, A mixed media by John Fawcett, Mickey Gives Minnie Flowers (1971). John Fawcett’s Mickey Gives Minnie Flowers, a 1971 ink, stencil, and collage on paper, embodies the artist’s deft fusion of pop-cultural iconography with contemporary art strategies. The work pairs graphic clarity with layered texture, reflecting Fawcett’s ongoing dialogue with mass media and authorship. Originating from a New York City office, this piece carries provenance that underscores its urban, institutional display history. Measured at 22.5 by 30.5 inches, it highlights Fawcett’s reputation as a leading figure in contemporary American practice, offering collectors a compact yet impactful example of his exploration of image, culture, and repetition. It is estimated at $800.00-$1200.00 and the proceeds will be donated to Aldersgate Outreach Community Center food bank in East Brunswick, NJ

Lot 132, We have a Silkscreen on Canva by Richard Pettibone, Portrait of Jack Benny (1972). Richard Pettibone’s Portrait of Jack Benny (1972) is a significant silkscreen on canvas from a pivotal period in American Appropriation Art. Signed and dated on the back edge, the work was commissioned for American Republic Insurance Company in Des Moines and originates from a New York City office, situating it within institutional display histories that enhance its provenance. At 36 by 48 inches, the piece presents a substantial, wall-ready exploration of replication, authorship, and the commodification of celebrity imagery—hallmarks of Pettibone’s practice as he translated iconic portraits into serial, meditative reworkings that continue to influence contemporary dialogue around originality. It is estimated at $1000.00-$2000.00, and the proceeds will be donated to Aldersgate Outreach Community Center food bank in East Brunswick, NJ

Lot 156 is one of a collection of 10 pieces by Josef Kozak, A Folk Art Christian Themed Illustration. Josef Kozak’s Oil on Canvas Folk Art Christian Themed Illustration depicts Jesus and South American-influenced saints and disciples in a densely detailed, mythological-fantasia style. Signed at the lower left, the 39-by-27-inch canvas intersects devout iconography with cross-cultural motifs, a signature of Kozak’s multimedia practice and his aliases, including “Francois.” While the subject matter is devotional, the piece also speaks to a broader visionary revival in American art, blending European and Indigenous visual vocabularies to create an idiosyncratic narrative that resonates with collectors of folk, visionary, and cross-cultural iconography. It is estimated at $300.00-$600.00.

I’m happy with everything Joe and Janet did, you were both informative and were very helpful with the questions I had being that I was never in that position before. Janet’s response time was also positive for me. It was interesting to watch the auction live. I thought you did an amazing job and had a nice banter back and forth. You seem to be a good team! Thank you for all your hard work and making this difficult time of letting  my deceased father’s collectibles go an easy experience.

I would like to thank you for including me in your online sale.
Everything from none contact drop off, to none contact pick up, was handled with the outmost professionalism.
I appreciated your clear communication after the sale with a printout and an explanation of when I’ll receive my check.
Overall I was very please with the prices my jewelry achieved, some lot  went for less then I expected, others went for more, it’s all in the average.

Thank you very much

Michal F.

I come to your auctions often. You and your staff are great. Your change to an online auction on 4/9 is just another testament to your fine character and being thoughtful of others. The items are great no doubt, but a big reason I keep coming back is due to the culture you have created. Thank you. Art
